Welcome to Booze On The Rocks, where we create delicious cocktails for everyone! Today, we’re going to take the classic lemon drop martini and give it a tantalizing twist. Get ready to be amazed!
The Evolution of Cocktails
Back in the 1970s, cocktails were all about concentrated and bottled juices. But in the 80s, cocktail connoisseurs like Dick Bradcell and Dale DeGroff revolutionized the scene by adding fresh fruits to their creations. And that’s exactly what we’re going to do with the lemon drop martini!
The Raspberry Lemon Drop Martini
To make this drool-worthy raspberry lemon drop martini, you’ll need a few simple ingredients. First, grab a plate of sugar and rub the outside of your glass with a lemon slice. This will give the glass a beautiful sugar rim.
Next, grab six raspberries and gently muddle them in the glass. No need to go too hard, as the ice will do the rest of the work when we shake the cocktail.
Now, it’s time to choose your vodka. While many recipes call for a citrus vodka, we’re going to let the fresh fruit shine and use Deep Eddy Lemon Vodka. Add two ounces (60 milliliters) of this zesty vodka to your glass.
To enhance the flavors, we’ll also add three-quarters of an ounce (22.5 milliliters) of triple sec, which will give the cocktail a hint of orange and a touch of sweetness.
Counter-intuitive as it may seem, we’re going to add half an ounce (15 milliliters) of simple syrup to balance out the sweetness of the sugar rim.
Squeeze the juice of half a lemon into the glass, which should give you about one and a half ounces (45 milliliters). Set the lemon aside for now.
Add ice to your glass and shake the cocktail vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds. This will break up the raspberry and bring out its tartness and sweetness.
Now, strain the cocktail into your prepared glass, making sure to keep out any raspberry chunks. Ah, perfection!
Garnish your masterpiece with a fresh raspberry on the rim and take a moment to appreciate its beauty. This raspberry lemon drop martini is not just a feast for the eyes but for the taste buds as well.
The Perfect Blend
One sip of this tantalizing concoction and you’ll be transported to cocktail heaven. The tartness of the lemon perfectly complements the sweet raspberry flavor, while the sugar rim ties it all together. It’s a truly blissful experience for your palate.
