How Long to Cook an Apple Pie

The scent of apples wafting through the house is one of my favorite things. That’s why I love to bake apple pies. But what if you don’t have a lot of time? Do you have to compromise and make an apple cobbler or something else? The answer is no! You can still make a delicious, warm pie in under an hour with these easy steps:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

You’ll want to preheat your oven for at least 10 minutes, and preferably longer (15 or 20 minutes). If you don’t have a timer on your oven, set one of those old-school ones so that it will ding when it’s ready. Then put in some music and sit down with a cup of tea while you wait!

Melt the tablespoons of butter in a medium bowl.

To melt the butter, you can do it on the stovetop or in a microwave. If you’re using a microwave, make sure your butter isn’t too hot–you don’t want to burn yourself! In fact, when melting butter in a small bowl on high heat (which is what I did), it’s best to periodically check its temperature with an instant-read thermometer until all of its water content has been absorbed by other ingredients.

If using the stovetop method instead of microwaving your butter, watch out for scorching! Make sure that no part of your pan gets too hot while heating up; this could cause burning and ruin your crust before we even get started baking anything else inside our pie shell later on today.”

Add the tablespoon of flour to the melted butter and mix well.

When you add the flour to the melted butter, don’t worry about it getting too hot. It’s fine if it does; just mix well and keep going. Don’t worry about clumping or lumpiness either–you’re going to be stirring it anyway!

Stir in the 1 cup brown sugar and then add the tart apples, chopped.

Stir in the 1 cup brown sugar and then add the tart apples, chopped.

You can use any variety of tart apple. I like to use Granny Smiths because they’re a little bit sour, but you could also use Pink Lady or Braeburns if you prefer something sweeter.

Pour this mixture into a pie shell and bake at 350 degrees for an hour or until the apples are soft when pierced with a knife.

Now you’re ready to bake your pie!

  • Pour this mixture into a pie shell and bake at 350 degrees for an hour or until the apples are soft when pierced with a knife.
  • Cut up the apples into small pieces, then add the butter and flour mixture to them; stir well until all ingredients are combined together evenly throughout your apple mixture (this will help make sure that you have no lumps). You can also use a food processor if you’d like to speed things along!
  • Pour this batter overtop of your unbaked crust, making sure there aren’t any holes where air bubbles could form during baking time later down the road–if necessary use extra flour here so nothing sticks out above surface level when finished cooking process finishes up later on down road as well as after cooling off period has passed before serving time arrives!

Apple pies can be baked in an hour or so if you follow these steps

You can bake an apple pie in about an hour if you follow these steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Melt the butter and add it to a large bowl with flour, sugar and cinnamon (if using). Stir until combined.
  • Peel, core and slice your apples into 1/4-inch thick slices (about 4 cups). If you have time, toss them with lemon juice so they don’t turn brown while baking. Add them to the bowl of dry ingredients along with any other fruit like cranberries or blueberries that may be called for in your recipe–or leave them out completely if they aren’t part of yours! Mix everything well until all ingredients are coated with flour mixture from step 2 above; this will help prevent sticking later on when we put everything together at #5 below…

We hope that you have enjoyed learning how to make an apple pie. If you follow these steps, your pie will be ready in no time at all!
